*Notice: For June-August, all times are moved an hour earlier*
What to Expect:
Please arrive at 9:00 a.m. for a brief orientation and instructions from our staff. As our driver unloads the truck, volunteers will be assigned tasks. Food distribution begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends when our neighbors in line have been served.
This role requires an added layer of emotional care to facilitate smooth and effective food distributions. Neighbors that attend FNEFL’s mobile pantries are facing circumstances outside of their control and experiencing the challenges of systemic hunger. Our goal is to provide food assistance with dignity, and to remove as many barriers as possible to food access. The Care Team helps accomplish these things by giving special attention to the experience of our neighbors. Please debrief with the Volunteer Coordinator(s) on shift to review duties necessary for the day's distribution.
