Feeding Northeast Florida invites families with children ages 5-10 to make a difference in the fight against hunger through our specially designed program of meaningful, age-appropriate volunteer activities.

Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing as our warehouse is not climate controlled. Closed-toe/closed-heel shoes are required. No crocs, flip-flops or sandals.

NOTE: Parent accompaniment is required. 

For our Food Sorting or Packing Food Boxes volunteer opportunity, you'll help us inspect and sort through donated dry goods, meat, or produce before they get distributed to our neighbors in need. You also might help with our Snack Pack program, in which you will pack bags of nutritionally dense, delicious, and easy-to-prepare meal options for children in public schools. These are intended to be take-home bags during the weekends and breaks, where they will otherwise be missing the meals provided at school. The type of project is decided on by the needs of the food bank. 

Minimum age of 14 is required for our warehouse shifts.  Volunteers 14 & over must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Please bring a jacket or sweatshirt for the possibility of bagging produce in our walk-in cooler.

We welcome you to volunteer with friends, family or co-workers. If you will be volunteering as a group, please be sure to respond to this opportunity using the "respond as a team" feature. All volunteers must be registered, as we cannot accommodate walk-ins. Please kindly be on time and stay for the entire duration of the shift.

Volunteers arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be able to participate as our orientation provides important safety information and instructions for the project.

This also allows volunteers on the waitlist the opportunity to join the shift. 

Our mobile pantry distributions take place throughout our community to provide food directly to our neighbors in need. Mobile pantry volunteers will assist with setup, packing food, distributing food, and cleanup. These opportunities are open to ages 10 and up.

Please arrive at 9:00 a.m. for a brief orientation and instruction from our staff.  Once our driver unloads the truck, volunteers will be assigned tasks.  Food distribution begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends when our neighbors in line have all been served. Volunteers will help break down the event and are typically dismissed by 11:30 a.m. 

Mobile pantries take place outdoors, so make sure to dress weather-appropriately. Closed-toe/closed-heel shoes are required. No crocs, tank tops or crop tops.
